Responsible assistance

AI policy

TechStart may use a local editorial assistant, but never makes AI a publishing authority or public dependency.

Optional by design

TechStart can create Spotlight drafts deterministically from preset questions and original answers. Normal submissions, manual editing, previews, and publication continue when the local AI computer is offline.

What AI may help with

  • Headline and subtitle suggestions
  • Light grammar and structure suggestions
  • Claims-to-verify and missing-information lists
  • Metadata and social-copy drafts

What AI may not do

  • Invent names, metrics, customers, funding, results, credentials, or quotations
  • Overwrite immutable source answers
  • Approve, schedule, or publish content
  • Make payment, rights, safety, or removal decisions

Privacy and review

The MVP uses a local-only LM Studio endpoint when enabled. Submission text is treated as untrusted data, outputs are schema-validated, and a human editor decides what—if anything—to use.
